Potty Training!!!

We have finally bit the bullet and are getting serious about potty training Mckenna. Two kids in diapers isen't an appealing prospect right now. I think more soo for Clint. He has a little more aggresive approach than I do. We had decided to get serious last Saturday. I went to Sams club, came home and Mckenna greets me from the upstairs balcony. "I poo-poo Mommy! I poo-poo"! No sign of Clint. No, he was in the bathroom scrubbing poop out of Mckenna's third pair of underpants. And unfortunatley it was not the last pair of the evening. I know there has to be a transition from pull-up to panties, but shouldn't we use the pull-up before the transition!!!! On behalf of Clint, not many husbands take such a hands on roll and I appreciate him sooo much!

HAWAII & MCKENNA'S 2ND B-DAY

Okay slacker that I am...I now have to combine two major events into one post...because I want you to see both!! We finally made it to the big island of Hawaii. I was never a "You have to go to Hawaii person" but I have converted! YOU HAVE TO GO TO HAWAII!! Lucky for us Clints sister, Jill and fam, live there...so we bunked with them and had a ball. Thankyou Jill for being our tour guide, car rental, babysitter, and everything in between....And my baby girl just turned two. I cannot believe it. We got her a kitchen and that is it...because she gets spoiled by everyone else we didnt have to get her much and she still got a lot... especially hugs and kisses. She is an independent spirit and wants to do everything herself, which can be exasperating at times, but I know will be a great strength to her in the future if I can give her a good foundation! It is the best when she calls me "Mommy" or says "I love you" out of the blue. Being a mom is the hardest but the best thing I have ever done!

Boy? Girl?

Can you tell what the next baby Summers will be??

We couldn't without a little help either. It is...

I guess I do not have women's intuition...this makes for my second unsuccesful guess at gender. When the ultrasound lady told me it was a girl all I could say was "really." She thought I was disappointed, but actually I was just shocked. This pregnancy is soooo different from McKenna's I was sure it would be a boy, but we are really excited to welcome another girl into our family...especially Clint!!! Now he will really be outnumbered! Go Girl Power!!

Peek-A-Boo

I haven't updated our blog for a while soooo here is the latest photo of McKenna. She loves to play hide and seek with Clint and he finally caught her on camera. Its funny how drastically life changes when you become a parent. I never knew I could love someone so completely and with so little effort. This past week for some odd reason I have been close to tears every time McKenna does something: gives me a hug or just calls "Mommy" perhaps it is pregnancy hormones or the fact that she is growing up way too fast! Either way I love her and thank God every day that sweet little girl was sent to Clint and I.

JUDITH: This is from my old college literature book. Sounds a little gory I know, but actually is very good and is based on the Book of Judith in the Latin Bible.

Then the clever woman swiftly put the harrier's head, all bloody, into the bag in which her attendant, a pale-cheeked woman, one proved excellent in her ways, had brought food there for them both; and then Judith put it, all gory, into her hands for her discreet servant to carry home.

For lighter reading try All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot.

I barely finished this book and loved it. Its just a bunch of stories about a vetrinarian in England. And whether you are an animal lover or not you'll enjoy it. My mom has been trying to get me to read it for years and I put it off, as I am not much of an animal person, but it was great!

I've tagged alot of the same people lately (My blogging world is small....but growing!!) sorry its a perk for knowing me and reading my blog!!! Jess, Kim Bishop, Kris, Kristin, and Carol. PS Jess I will do purse tag as soon as I get the camera from Clint!!

NASCAR RACING

Clint went hunting this weekend sooooo McKenna and I headed to the speedway to take in some racing for the first time. We had a ball! I see now how easy it is to become addicted. We went with Nana and Papa (our adopted family in Vegas) who are true veterans. They rent a campsite every year! The pics did not turn out great because I used the video camera (Clint had the digital) and being the true sportsman I am I forgot to take the camera to the race track. Sooo they are mostly of McKenna back at camp Nana and Papa!
